I'm shooting with a Pentax K-x. I found a lot of value in the camera compared to Nikon and Cannon. The only down side to Pentax, is that lenses for the K mount aren't as popular and are slightly more limited. Over all the Pentax has gotten great reviews and would be my top pick for an entry level DSLR! *Recently the K-x has been replaced with the K-30Lenses
Right now I have a Sigma 18-50mm F2.8-4.5 DC OS HSM, and a Pentax 50 - 200 mm F4 - 5.6 lensThe Sigma is a great lens, fast, sharp, and has a good apeture. Not the the best apeture, but good for the $250 dollars it costs. The Pentax zoom is not that great a lens. It's a decent beginner zoom lens, but the focusing is slow and noisy, and the pictures aren't "tack" sharp.
